Gloria to God:
Dear God, pretty much in my life, I have not enjoyed birthdays and other celebrations. I just haven't been able to get into the spirit of things. Particularly, on my own birthday.
Karen said that my resistance to celebrating came from my parents who got it from their parents and so on. My parents came from Russia, and life was too much survival to think about birth dates. My parents didn't even know when their birthday was.
One of the things Karen said that helped me was: A birthday, including my birthday, my day of birth, is the day You gave the gift of being born into a body, that it is a great gift, that we can only experience and learn the things we have to learn in a body.
I am sure I have always thought it was better to be without a body, God. Somehow I had thought of a birthday as celebrating the date of birth, not the event of it.
But I realized that honoring the day of my birth is honoring You and Your creation. Karen said that what You are doing is opening up my heart so that I can receive and accept Your wonders.
I was able to enjoy my birthday more this year, and I was not disappointed in it.
Karen also said that the birth day is important in the world of spirit and that Heaven is happy.
God:
Heaven is always happy. There are many birthdays to celebrate!
Gloria:
Yes. How does Heaven, where time does not exist, keep track of dates!
God:
Heaven celebrates all the time.
It is like asking, how do I know when it is time for the seasons to change.
There is no concern of dates any more than there is concern of the revolving of the earth. It is all set.
In addition, there is your soul that is happy to have been incarnated and to remember that God-given moment. It is like a star appears once in a year, and your soul catches on to it.
Gloria:
God, this must seem so small a question, but there are different calendars, so if I went by a different calendar, the anniversary of my birth would be on a different day. Which is the real one?
God:
The one assigned. If the date were incorrect, it wouldn't matter. The celebration matters. A focus of attention on the day you were given to the world. That is what a birth is. A donation to the world. You, presented to the world. You, entering the world. You could celebrate the day of your birth every day, and Heaven would join in. Why not make your whole life a celebration of your birth?
Gloria:
On the morning of my birthday, I was writing an email to Karen, and then in the middle of the email, it was like my soul started writing, describing an experience it was having. I was not experiencing it; I was witnessing what was being written. I don't know if this should be included in Heavenletters.
God:
Why not?
Gloria:
I don't want Heavenletters to appear esoteric. And I'm not sure what was going on.
God:
Go ahead.
My email to Karen on my birthday follows. — Gloria
Gloria to Karen:
Dear Karen, it is always so lovely to find a heart-given message from you. And, today, so many!
Actually, today did not have a good start — computer-wise that is. My computer kept locking up, and it was awful, but after about fifteen minutes it came back to life!
I have a sense of an angel placing a halo of roses on my head. It is very sweet. At first I thought the angel might be you, but I think it's someone else right now representing God.
I feel that angel emissary of God strewing rose petals in my path, and I am fitted with a lovely gown and the angel is taking me by the hand somewhere. I think we are flying up to Heaven. I am swimming in roses, all roses. I am being honored.
All tears I have ever had are being wiped off by sweet hands.
A locket is placed around my neck. It is from God and is a reminder of Our tryst, and I will never remove it. It is unremovable.
Now two angels carry me, holding me under each arm, and they are taking me to a higher Heaven that I can't really see but I know I am there and am being filled with love and wisdom. I am being filled with treasures of some kind.
And now they return me here to where I am sitting at the computer, but I am still wearing the finery. The two angels leave, but they leave something with me. I think it is a single rose that fills up the whole room somehow and encompasses me. It is like I am the dew of the rose and also the little place that holds the rose together, the meeting place of the petals.
And now you are here, facing me, and looking into my eyes. The look is beyond love. Nothing melting here, but pure, Karen, pure love, an energy and intensity of love that is beyond your love for me.
And now Ginger is here, and she offers me something at my feet — what would it be but a little biscuit. Sweet Ginger. I eat it. It is a holy wafer.
My daughter Lauren comes as all golden light, and she offers me her heart.
Jesus comes and places a note in my hand, and the note is absorbed into me although I never open it or read it.
Now angels place balloons on my high ceiling, and there are shiny satiny and sparkly streamers.
Many angel hands press me on my shoulders from behind me. It is a reassurance before they fly off.
Some angels stay. Two I think, one on the right, one on the left.
There may be another one in front of me also, and I think there is one behind. They are unobtrusive, just contentedly there.
Now some angels — not the same ones — come and kiss the palms of my hands and place my hands over my heart. As my hands type on the computer, they are nevertheless placed over my heart so that the love goes into my heart and is circulated through the universe, from my heart to the universe, from God to my heart to the universe.
Now they place my hands on the keys, and tell me this ceremony is over but the vibrations will remain.
Well, Karen, what was all that about? Godwriting took over my email to you!
Karen to Gloria:
Oh the love and party you see! Are you not glad you finally decided to accept that birthdays can be fun? That God said, "Get in that body, Gloria!" Hahahhaha!
Well love this is a gift now that has been given you.
It is magic — God's love and happiness — and you will see how it does it all for you. It is fun and loving and everything, my love.
You have opened your eyes and heart. And now the world will sing and hymn all kinds of things to you … and others thru you … You will see my dear…
Lots of things will take place over the next few days. Birthdays, really celebrations, are longer than you think! Hahah!
And thank you, God, for letting Gloria and me celebrate in the real spirit way of you, God.

Often I print out Heavenletters and re-read them and show them to others so they may know about it. It's a wonderful thing you're doing, making them so easily available to us all.
I was intrigued also with the idea that the very fact that it's on the internet is creating a divine network in the world.
