Update from Nancy:
It took me a little time to put it together, but I have had a revelation.
Around the time I wrote to God asking about finances in Heavenletters, I had a really bad backache.
Recently, I put off buying glaze chemicals for my pottery because I was afraid there wouldn't be enough money for bills. Backache came back. An insight! Financial worry and backache, just like Louise Hay says.
I know that God wants me to have the glazes I want, and I just turn my concern over to God. I am learning to depend on God more for my prosperity. How freeing this is to me! My bills somehow get paid.
I hope I can come to Iowa and attend an "Ask God" workshop. I will get to meet some of these wonderful Heavenreader friends. Maybe I can come in the spring when your garden is in full glory.

Dear God, what is money anyway? I have heard it is energy, an exchange of energy. But what IS it?
God:
It is whatever you in the world say it is. Unquestionably it has power in the world — so long as it does.
It could be a piece of ribbon as well, red being the most expensive, beige being like a penny.
It could be nuggets of gold or stones of rose-quartz — whatever you agree to, and for so long as you agree.
Whatever you say is muscle is muscle. Whatever you say something is worth, that's its worth. Made-up stories of what the world wants to barter with — that is what money is.
The source of wealth is not the bank. It is not the national government. It is not a treasury or world bank. It is not in rules. Its power is not in history or events.
Its power is within you because power comes from Me.
Power is potential energy. Money spent does not have the power of money about to be spent. Once spent, it loses its energy and sleeps for a while.
The exchange between two parties is the energy, and the money is the symbol of it.
All trade is trade. Exchange is exchange. An even exchange is free-flowing. Uneven exchange has bumps.
But it is really nothing, you know. It is a game. It is play like a football game, or golf, or like chess, or poker.
Value is in the eyes of the beholder. Behold it.
Energy is a stream. The concept of money tries to block that stream, move it over, even save it, hide it, say it is limited. In truth, the stream has enough energy for all.
The stream flows from a source. The source cannot be blocked, cannot be stemmed.
Blocking energy is a game of its own, trying to steal it, mold it.
True energy is inviolable. Anything else is Let's Pretend.
You do not need to pretend, though you may if you want to.
You are wherever your mind says you are. You have as much in your hand as your mind says. You have the use of the infinite energy of God if you but knew.
Know it. Not as a wish. Not as a myth. Not as an ideal, but as truth. Not to convince yourself, but to unconvince yourself of what you have led yourself to believe.
Hold on to the rope you can reach. One rope will bring you over to another.
The ropes are faith.
Faith holds you.
Have faith in yourself. Have faith in Me. Use money, but put not your faith in it.

On another subject, I realize that instead of only sitting to receive Your words in the morning, I need to be ready to receive them during the day, not on a schedule, but open to it. I wonder if I have been trying to stem the tide of You, dear Father.
God:
You have been segmenting Me. You pull Me out with Your notebook in the morning. And you put Me down with your pen.
You want more of Me, so have more of Me. Have Me continually.
Make Me your passport that you carry with you and won't be without.
Make Me your wallet, your purse, you coin, your credit cards, your car keys.
Make Me your medium of exchange. Make Me your codicil. Make Me your will. Make Me be your thought, as you are Mine.

I realize that I have to leave myself behind. I am holding on to my old picture of myself — or no picture.
God:
You are leaving your ego behind. You still think you need it.
Catch up to yourself. All barriers are knocked over, and yet you don't know you're free. Where is your cage? It is gone. It never was there except in the shackles of your mind.
Always you were a free soul. The soul cannot be bound. The soul is not attached.
Only things of the body are attached.
You are feeling a boundary of freedom!
Freedom makes you huddle in a corner.
You are afraid to fly.
Then walk over to the new horizon before you.
There are no traps. This is not a mirage. I lead you ever higher. I lead you to where you are. I say: "Look. Behold where I have taken you."
Don't be afraid to come. Be afraid of not coming with Me. I hold your hand and steady your foot. What can possibly happen to delay you but fog in your mind.
Fog is inside, not outside.
Wipe it away, and join Me in the sun where you are welcome and where all belong.
