Quado Daily Portion
“Plan for the seasons,but live now”
Today, I wish to speak of your relationship to your future and to planning.
We have spoken much of living in the moment, of being in this moment now and finding your peace and joy here, rather than expecting it through the future unfolding of your plans. And this is so. If you are not full of peace and joy and this moment, regardless of the outer circumstances, then you will find yourself in this same state even if your plans successfully unfold.
But this does not mean that you are to have no sensible relationship with the future at all. Of course you must know that the seasons come and go, and like the squirrel, you must plan for the inevitable. You must know that winter will require some hidden nuts and some shelter. But you must also know that spring always follows and so there is no need to waste today in fear or to hoard overmuch.
As with all else in life, it is a balance. Balance sensible activity based on experience and the obvious patterns of this physical world, with the very deep need to be present within this moment and enjoying it. The obvious way to achieve this balance is to love what you do, no matter what you do, as you do it. If you love the process of storing away the nuts as much as you love the leap across the tree boughs in the sunshine, then you will find that peace and joy now.
Do not feel sorry for yourself that it is necessary to hide away nuts on such a glorious summer afternoon or to dig them up on a cold winter day. And do not give way to fear, so that no matter how many nuts you have stored away, enough for ten winters, you still feel desperate to continue hoarding.
Remember that your inner peace and joy are a feeling, an attitude, a state of being which is not dependent upon the activity you are performing at the moment, nor upon the conditions of the outside world, nor upon the opinions and attitudes of others. It is a world you create and inhabit, inside, and it is entirely yours.

Here is a little prayer for today
Today I infuse every activity I perform with joy.
I am centered in my own peace, with a calm and
settled feeling and a deep immersion in this moment,
no matter what I am doing.
Today, I take action which is in my own best interests and do so in a joyful and centered way, knowing that I am creating my own future out of the attitudes of this moment.
I am centered in my own truth. I am full of peace and joy. I am love. I am.
