When you wake in the morning, I am with you. When you sleep at night, I am with you. When you believe you are being confronted, I am with you. When you glimpse joy, I am with you.
These are not just words. These are words of truth. There is no distance between us. That means We are always close. We are not even a hair-breadth away. It is only ignorance that allows you to think otherwise.
You may think that you and I are far away, sometimes as if We do not even have a passing acquaintance. Sometimes you think I do not exist at all either to be close to or far away from. Your mind has forgotten Me exceedingly, as if I were on film that didn't develop. Do you see how far away from truth fiction can be?
Rather than tolerating the idea that We are at a distance, the weary mind would even obliterate the possibility of Me. So strong is the urge for Us to be united that you would tolerate the thought of My nonexistence rather than the thought My absence, as if it were better to have no father at all than one who has forgotten you or abandoned you. Negation of My presence is supreme projection. Your mind walked away from Me. It could not even conceive Me any longer. The lengths the mind will go to in order to fool itself.
It is as if I come from the East, and your mind looks for Me in the West, does not spot Me, and says that I never existed, or I've gone already. Beloveds, where would I go? There is nowhere without you.
You have an idea of the power of a single atom. But what do you think it means that you are made of atoms? Begin to surmise the power you are made of. This is more than potential, for potential is meaningless. What you call potential is your present power, albeit unrecognized. You have all the tools at hand but you have looked too far away for them. You have looked far and wide when all the while they were right here. Here I am standing right beside you — rather, right within you.
If you could accept how integral We are, you would know that there is nothing else. You would know that We are existence itself. But your mind deludes you that you are a tennis ball bouncing along on its own, as if it were connected to nothing at all, as if there were nothing to connect to.
Of course, I do not force you to Me. There is nothing for Me to force. You are with Me. You never departed. Only in imagination could you depart from Me, and that you have done quite well.
But even so, you have had glimpses of Me dancing near you. If not glimpses, you have felt My momentum. You have had stirrings of Me. And you are sad at missing Me. You are sad at the thought of missing Me. You are sad at the thought of occluding Me. In this lack of discernment, you miss your own recognition of Me and, therefore, yourself. You bewail the thought that you seem to be apart from Me.
What lengths the mind will go to to prove itself. It has even chosen despair over truth more often than not.
What could you do but despair without the thought of Me?
