The Play of Life

God said:

Get down to the business of life. Do not put it off. This does not mean to take life seriously, but it does mean to stop dabbling in it. Get on with life. You have spent enough time in a canoe, just dribbling your fingers in the water. Perhaps now is time to paddle.

Have you not been waiting for life to occur? Have you perhaps been holding out for only a superb life of perfection? It has been perhaps hard for you to accept just any life. You want an excruciatingly splendid one, and so, perhaps, you don't step off the curb. Your foot hovers.

You perhaps have been looking so far ahead that you miss the present drama. If you were not so inside your life, you might well know how marvelous it is. If you were an observer, you would be entranced.

You are all set for life. You have a setting and scenery with doors and windows, chairs to sit in, a rug to walk on, an outdoors to go in and out of. And there is a cast of characters who enter and cross the stage with you. The curtain is going up. Wherever you are at this moment, whatever you are doing, it is exciting. Hear the murmur of the audience. They gasp with the precise beauty of the scene they see. They wait with bated breath to see what transpires next.

If this a bedroom scene, and you are waking up, the audience wonders what you are waking up to. What will be your first words? Where is your blanket? Who is with you?

If you are sitting at the computer, typing away, what are you writing? And who will read it? Where will it travel to, and what response will you get?

If you are sitting down to eat, what food is before you? What are the colors of it? Who put it there? What silverware do you use? When do you put your fork down?

Perhaps you are pacing.

Perhaps you are yawning in boredom.

But what a drama you are in! You walk across the stage of life, beauty to behold.

These are the marvelous increments of your life. No two lives alike, each holds glamour.

If you live in a palace, it is a wonder to behold. If you sleep in a car, it is also a wonder to behold. Tell Me, what in life is not a treasure trove when seen for the first time?

Each day is new. See it as if for the first time. Repetitions in life need not be repetitious. Even each yawn is new.

What in life is not precious when seen for the last time as well? No one knows when the last time is, so make every time the first.

Every day you wake up to a new world. Even if everything appears the same, nothing is the same. Birds sing each day anew. Each blade of grass grows higher. Each Human being comes closer to Heaven.

The stage is all set for you. All you have to do is come on.

Come on to the front of the stage. All is in readiness for you. Everyone waits for you. The spotlights are on you. The camera is on you. You are the star of the show. The orchestra begins. The curtain goes up. You get up in front of the whole world, and look into everyone's eyes and you begin to speak. What character are you, what do you say, and how do you walk across the stage?
