Do you see how a tall tree grows? It is not copying another tree. It is not trying to be a tall tree. It is only being itself, layer by layer. It is like, as the tree grows, it exhales in total relaxation. There is no effort. The tree is not trying to attain, achieve, perform or anything at all except to just be the tree he is.

You see where I am going here. My children go through all sorts of somersaults trying to attain to something. Trees just attain their full growth without exertion. They are not running a race with other trees or even with themselves.

When you are sleeping in bed at night, you are really awake. You are as awake as ever, for even when you are wide awake, there is a part of you that is still asleep. Part of you wants to keep sleeping and not wake up. You may desire the wakefulness of pure enlightenment, yet you continue to snooze a little longer, and then you get up and take care of what has to be taken care of, and yet you move as a sleepwalker. You go from one bedroom of sleep to another.

Some days the sun shines brightly, and some days the sky is hazy. Regardless of how the sun appears, the sun is shining all the time, and all the time the sun shines brightly. What the sun filters through makes a difference in how it looks to you. But filters are not the sun. They are filters.

My grace I give to you. All is My grace. I graciously bestow the world to you and you to the world. I am most gracious in My gifts to you. Sometimes you recognize My gifts as gifts and sometimes you do not. Surely, you must accept that life itself is a gift, and that it makes sense to receive and acknowledge a gift that has been given you. How will your life be different when you recognize life itself as a great gift? You will have thrown off any concepts of life as burden and accepted the grace of God.

Everyone has a role to fulfill. Everyone has a spiritual goal to fulfill. Spiritual may have a different meaning from what you think. Spiritual is not separate from worldly life. It isn't something else. It isn't another track to run on. You who are spirit are already leading a spiritual life. And all on earth are spirit. You were made in My image. This means you reflect Me. You can't help it.

I wonder what would happen on earth if everyone accepted that they are the Spiritual Beings they are.

The only purpose of darkness can be to emphasize the light. In this sense, darkness is a nurturer. Consider that it is. Consider that darkness is a blessing. Hidden from view, blessing nevertheless it is.

Where can you go from darkness but into the light? In that sense, darkness is a direct path.

From the illusion of darkness comes the reality of light.

It is not that you adjust your eyes to darkness. It is that you see beyond the darkness.

You who are born of light, take delight in Who you are. You are from light, so you might as well sparkle. When you look at light today, how it falls on the trees, how faces are lit up with it, how Godly it is, then remember that you are this self-same light. I adjure you to look at the light.

Life is a panorama that flies past your eyes.

What is there to grasp but the meaning? Scenes occur, and then recur in your thoughts, but life is once, at once. Life is a string of gold that you pull. It is a long kiss. You hold hands with life and swing around the May pole.

You release life, and you expand it. The circle grows ever wider. Life spins fast, like the twirling tiger that melted into golden butter. The essence of your life is spun-gold, gold ever spinning, taking momentary form, then returning to its goldenness.

When you spread your eyes on the details of the world, you see details. You see the stitches that were made. You see all the twists and turns and back and forths. In your looking at the specific, you may overlook the overall. Beauty is vast, and unbeautiful is small.

Lift your head this moment. My light runs through you. You are light that can see. What I would most like you to see today is your worthiness. You have been looking at what you see as unworthiness. There is something you did or didn't do that you rue. And you debase yourself because of it.

That you know better now is cause for celebration, not consternation. Because you cannot relive a past moment and make it holier now is not cause for regret. It is a great accolade to you that you have learned something. This is a milestone of growth.
