She said that Ariel Sharon, the Prime Minister of Israel, originally opposed returning the Gaza Strip to the Palestinians. Through the grace of God and in the name of peace, it is happening now or has happened. Apparently some of the Israelis who have to move, have been resisting and giving a hard time to the Israeli soldiers who have to help them get out.
Right in the front of the battle, The Prime Minister stood before the rebelling Israelis, and called out: "Don't hurt the soldiers. It was my idea."
Does that touch you the way it touched me?

A few days ago when I read this statement that the Israeli prime minister made I choked up with tears in my eyes.
This taking of responsibility is an admirable extremely admirable . thing he did.
This can be a road to peace;... one person at a time, taking responsibility for their actions.

Yes, it is dear; it indicates that humans can be divine when they choose to. His care and concern for the innocent is divine.

Something is happening here in the USA:
On September 14th a bill will be re-intoduced to Congress to create a cabinet level Dept of Peace.
We have a War cabinet...
Seems to me a Peace Cabinet :idea: is totally appropriate.

MIRACLES AND OTHER WONDERFUL THINGS IN THE NEWS
Here's a website about one of the many projects by Israeli Jews and Israeli Arabs to build bridges between cultures here in the Middle East. Westerners should know that Israel is full of diverse cultures that DO co-exist and live by humanistic values.
I decided to move here with my teenage daughter this summer to get the news first hand. I discovered that the media hands us a narrow- distorted - picture of life here. I think it adds to the problems.
I think that the being who is giving the Heavenletters to Gloria is telling us that the more we honor ourselves, the closer we are able to get to each other heart to heart, the closer we get to the simple Truth. The further apart we get , the more mental complexity is involved, the more alienation is created. I've discovered people here from many walks of life who honor the principles that nurture each human being and creation. The news would have us think otherwise.
We each decide to choose these life-supporting principles-to grow towards our full potential- or not. In this sense, it is Gd who is Chosen, therefore each individual who makes that choice is a Chosen person. Ditto on the greater scale of Culture.

How happy I am that you are posting here. I am just charmed with all the beautiful things going on in the Middle East that you tell us about and that the major news doesn't seem to.
I saw a bit of the Daily Show one day last week. If I watch news, that's the one I like to watch. Anyway, there was an author whose name I forget who just wrote a book, the name of which I'm sorry I also forget, but it was saying that what the news media seem to do is to frighten us, one scare upon the other, and making no discernment between them.
I'm so glad we can counteract the scare motif here.
