God's Heart

God said:

I am telling you to rise. If you think you are only your mortal body walking around, you are dead to the depths of you. I raise you from the dead. You do not belong there.

You have made yourself a sleep-walker. You move around while you sleep. You know not what you do. You know not the difference between sleeping and waking.

I set no alarm clock for you. It rang long ago. All the birds sing it. "Awake, awake to the dawn."

The winds in the leaves say it to you.

The sun says it silently every morning.

Everything wakes up in the morning but you. Your body wakes. You wash your face. But you carry an old image of yourself, and that's what you see in the mirror when you shave.

You see old, old, old wherever you look. You do not see new, because you do not look for it. You look to see what you have always seen, and you call that comfort. At the same time you complain about it.

All you have to do is to open your eyes.

And that is what you fear to do. What it is exactly that you fear, I do not know. You cannot see less than you have seen. You can only see more. And there is more to be seen.

You fear to change your thoughts. You think what you have always thought or what was handed down to you must be held on to, as if holy. But it is holiness I gave to you, but that you have let go of. You accept dross for gold, and you abandon yourself. You accept old battered tin, and you overlook the golden spoon.

No matter how far you have come, you have further to go.

I do not slip away from you, but you have more opening to do. You cannot sit on your laurels, for then they are laurels no more.

I am not a God Who changes. I am not a God Who is away from you. And yet you have to voyage to Me. You have to take your hand off the banister and ascend to My heart.

Whatever story you are on, there is another flight of stairs, and one after that, and with each step you come closer to your awareness of Our Oneness.

I call you to Our Oneness. Do not be afraid. There is nothing else for you to do but come. You have done all the running you can. Stop a moment now and consider My yearning for you. Would you have Me yearn, or would you answer Me?
