I have no ego. I have no need to assert Myself for Myself. My cry to be noticed is a cry to uplift you. It is not vanity when I say that all glory is Mine, for you are Mine, and all are Mine. You are Mine as gifts I give to the Universe. You are Mine in the sense that you are from Me.

Don’t be swift to have other idols over Me.

What are some of the other idols? Fame, money, schools of thought, experts, career, corner office, jewelry, sequined dress… There are many more forms of idols to add to the list, but I will leave it to you to think of them.

It is possible that you are more eager to do anything than meet with Me. You do put other gods before Me. You want to read a good book, or watch TV, or to race your roadster down the road. Okay, then, follow these attractions, and simply take Me with you. Take some awareness of Me with you. I am with you whether you are aware or not. Now take Me with you. Why not have a nodding acquaintance with Me. I am your Self, after all.

Admire all that you admire, yet not be carried away. Remember your True Source, beloveds. Remember from whence your happiness comes. Be sure to know that I am not talking obligation here when I suggest that you remember Me and be glad and grateful for all that you have. I am suggesting what fills your heart. Be thankful, and soon enough, you will be truly grateful for yourself, this human being who runs in and out of stores and sometimes consumes himself in errands.

I shall give you an errand. Remember to pick Me up. Remember to add Me to your shopping list. I have picked you out to acquire Me. Acquire Me then. Let Me sit in the seat beside you or across from you or behind you. It doesn’t matter. Just let Me sit with you in your awareness. Look at Me, beloveds, and know there is more to Me than the eye can see. Know what will fill your heart far more than all the things you have been filling your heart with.

Sweets are not without a purpose, but you cannot live on candy. There is a greater sweetness in life, and it is yours any moment you choose it. This is like a Mission Possible. Choose it, if you will. My request will not disintegrate. Old beliefs will disintegrate before your very eyes. You will finally face that the material world cannot keep you satisfied. You will see that the material world is a drop in the bucket. You will put no other gods before Me because you will know there are no other gods before Me. Be glad. Let go of all those other idols.

No mortal man can give you Me. He can only point to Me. This is what Buddha and Christ and all the Great Ones did. They did not want your adoration. They wanted you to give your adoration to Me so that you would join with Me in awareness and intention and in great joy. A true leader does not want you to follow him. He wants you to follow Me.

He does not desire to be a middleman. He wants you to go the Source, and he knows there is only One Source to go to, and he knows he is not it.
