God Always

God said:

You are learning to let go of everything. You once tied life to you tightly with ropes. Then you bound life to you with ribbons flowing in the breeze. And now you loose the ribbons. Now, all that you hold dear, you set free. It never was yours to keep.

Now you allow your treasures to leave, or to come and go, or to stay, as they will, as life wills. Some loved ones will unfurl and fly to the Heavens and rise further than you can see. That they are out of your present sight does not mean they are not there, or that they did not take you with them. In truth, all treasures belong to themselves and Heaven, as do you.

Certainly, you have thought that you can hold on to life, and you have thought its counterpart, that you can also lose that which you hold dear. Of course, nothing was ever in your possession, so how can you lose that which never was yours. You made a claim to it, but that was only a claim. You held the title, but a title only represents. It is never that which it represents. You are learning that you cannot keep and you cannot lose. Only in your mind can you.

And yet, you are not hapless in the sea of life. You simply are developing another relationship with it. You swim, but you do not oppose. You enjoy the waves, and you understand the nature of waves, that they can only be waves that flow up and flow down. You cannot make them be still. You cannot capture them, for then they would not be waves. Waves would become mere water in your hands and soon evaporate.

It is incumbent to free life from obligation to you. You are not master nor are you slave. You are a simple sailor on the sea of life. Live your life and make it a journey of love. You are crossing the sea on your way back to Heaven. Your voyage in life is not a diversion. It is the main enterprise, for you are setting sail toward the Holy Light of Heaven.

In stillness you are, yet you, as well as the waves, are not meant to stay still. In stillness you move. In stillness, you dive deep, and in stillness you rise high. You indeed are a wave in life. And yet you are much more than that.

The waves of the sea reflect the sun that shines on it. The waves reflect the moon and the stars. Never is the sea without light.

Stars tease you by their twinkling on and off. One moment you see light brightly, and the next it is dimmed. Who is to say it is meant to be otherwise? Whether the starlight is on or off to your vision does not matter. It is always starlight, and starlight is something you can keep to you. You must keep the light of the stars to you or you will think you are lost on the sea of life. When you cannot see your way, you have clung to ropes that you think guide you and keep you safe.

But the ropes you hold onto are nothing like the stars in Heaven. You don't need ropes. You need stars. And you have them. You have the sun by day, and the moon and the stars by night and God always.
