Circumstances in Life

God said:

Will you take My hand and be My friend in sickness and in health? Will you love Me? Will you love Me with a love as unshakable as the love I hold you in?

That I love you with all My heart means just that. I love you with total love. Despite what may befall in life, you do not lose My Grace. Can I, as well, stay in your good graces no matter what life may deliver to you?

It is not that I ask this of you for Myself. I ask this of you for you. It is helpful for you to stay with Me whatever may occur in your life. I stay with you regardless of what you say or do. Stay with Me the same.

Life sometimes offends you because of your attachment to otherwise. You believe that this, this, and this have to be so. In your evaluation, certain things are allowed to happen, and certain things are not. Life does not always concur with you. And, then, when you are dealt a different hand, you become lost in suffering to the point at which you do not know the difference between joy and suffering. I am saying that sometimes you enjoy your suffering, for it makes you the valiant long-suffering hero of the show.

You really do not need suffering in order to know joy. That idea simply is not true. Yet as soon as you impart restrictions on life, you curry suffering. When you see life as obligated to deal you the cards you like, you will resent the cards that life hands you. You get your back up. You become angry or forlorn, and, seemingly, express or hide a vendetta with life.

Life is innocent, beloveds, as innocent as you. There is that in life that you cannot understand, that may not be possible to understand. It is not understandable in human terms. And yet the un-understandable comes to you, just the same. Do not understand then, and also do not think that a deliberate offense has been done to you. There are matters you cannot fight. There are circumstances in life that you simply have to go along with. Death is one of them. Anything you perceive as loss, including untimely loss, is one of them.

I know that there are experiences in life that, from everything you know, are terrible, unfair, unfathomable, outrageous, regrettable. Yet what does stamping your foot accomplish? What does wailing accomplish?

There are matters that you can change, and there are matters you cannot. If you want to have muscles, you can work out. If you want to will someone who has died back to life, it is unlikely that this is under your will. If you want someone to love you who does not presently love you, is there any way to make someone love you? No, beloveds, you can't force anyone to love you.

Here's an important point: Despite how you feel, there is no one's love you have to have but Mine. And I will never stop loving you. What happens in life, and how I feel about you, may not be entwined. Do not equate disappointments in life with My love for you. My love is independent of what occurs to you. Let this be true for you as well. Let your love be independent of what life delivers to you, and keep loving Me.

What gain can there be in walking away from Me? What possible gain? And why would you try to separate yourself from Me? It is futile anyway, for I go with you regardless. There is no going away from Me, beloveds. Why try? Give in. Concede. We are inseparable.

When You speak of relative life, its circumstances, events, occurences, I feel such a repulsion that makes me think I have done my choice, once and for all.
I can't bear to talk one minute of problems concerning this life ( mates, jobs, money, family), it is like a plain book read so many times whose only sight bothers me now.
There isn't much left to talk, eh God?

Much later, still aching

Much later, still aching with helpless laughter: What would this forum be without you? You could post "not verified" as, say, Vesuvia, and we would still know who is writing.

Perhaps God is just making sure He is reaching us on all planes, from the sublime to the most trivial.

I believe there never was anything to talk about. The birth of talk was with "repulsion" and "bother". God is trying to soothe us out of bother and talk. After talk, I guess, will be even better than before talk. Imagine: Everything seemingly broken healed. How happy, how wonderful. Even better than staying away from the illusion of relative life in the first place. Imagine, all the fuming and weeping, all the slapping and slighting and cursing and killing sliding off our hearts, hands sinking, all venom transmuted back into the blood of life, and everything we see, be it face or flower or sea, leaving us stunned from a joy that is more than we believe we can take. Coming home. Finding that our wildest dream, and only our wildest dream, that of simple kindness, recognition and tender fondness, is true.

Beloved Jochen, I posted the last line of your comment, as space allowed, on Twitter.

God can be sure

"Vesuvia"! Oh, I love it! Thanks for appreciating my humour, even dark one. Someone said a laughter will bury us.

"All venom transmuted back into the blood of life", yes, pulsing blood, vital, warm, alive.

"...and everything we see...leaving us stunned...". You won't believe it, three days ago I was in stunned contemplation of a trash bin on the side of a crowded, dirty and noisy road of the world. It was speaking of life too.

Finally "coming home" and find it far more amazing than we ever dared to dream in our wildest dreams.

Emilia writes her view of Life's book.

Your open, sweet way of showing us your soul makes our heart skip a beat. We love you more than you know. Your way of seeing and saying is so darn honest! We love it

Gloria and God tell us about love.

An old hymn that's precious to me says: "Oh love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee..." The real nature of LOVE escapes our nebulous words. "Love suffers long and is kind, seeks not her own, keeps record of no wrongs and on and on the account in 1 Corinthians goes about Love, the nature of God.

Should we feel it? Can we experience it? What does it actually feel like?

Emotions fail to tell us straight answers unless you're watching a mother and a new baby. Neither the mother or the baby feel the process of love in the holy instant of now but both rest in something we can call trust, when we give a portion of ourself to the other, asking nothing in return. God's love is constant, unchanging as we go through our life mysteries.

Hi everyone!

What a beautiful message, it is like God hugged us personally and put his arm around us, and just in time for my graduation...!

Even 'terrible, unfair,

Even 'terrible, unfair, unfathomable, outrageous, regrettable' situations are made out of God's love and light.

We love them for they are made out of God. If we hold that truth in our hearts, whatever occurs, the love and light is set free, is spiritualised, is raised a little higher.

Then miracles occur.

What beautiful words

How these profound yet simple words touch my heart so deeply - I thank my dear God to bringing these through Gloria. Thank you dear Gloria - you are such a treasure. Catherine

Just who is God, anyway?

Who or What is the “God” talking to us in this letter? Surely we can agree that He is a Being Who created it all, Who is totally responsible, all-powerful, can do it all, if He only chooses. This we seem to easily understand and take as a given.

Then, we are reminded once again, in this letter, that we possess a kind of what I will call natural ignorance. This letter expresses it this way: “There is that in life that you cannot understand, that may not be possible to understand. It is not understandable in human terms.”

Unfortunately, in our ignorance, and in our mistaken thinking that we actually do understand, we often conclude that our suffering and our feelings of loss originate with our all-powerful Creator. It is almost a seductive conclusion to come to believe that God is either uncaring of us in allowing terrible things to happen or, what may be even worse, He is a vengeful God Who is punishing us for not measuring up to His standards.

The key message of this letter is that it is a huge understanding to understand that we don’t understand. Luckily, we don’t have to understand, all we need to do live within the equanimity of both knowing we do not know what is really going on and still realizing that everything is purposeful and under the direction of an all-knowing and completely loving Creator. God is asking us to not take the happenings of life personally because this will transmute misfortune into suffering and may allow our ignorance to become a wedge between us and Him.

a wedge

Chuck, your precise doctor's mind sums up this Heavenletter nicely. Would you agree that things may not be so clear-cut for all of us? Anyway, in the light of other Heavenletters, they are not for me.

I agree with most of your first paragraph. God has often been envisioned as someone else somewhere else, and that is something I don't understand at all any more and will not accept. According to Heavenletters, I don't have to, thank God.

I know what you mean by "natural ignorance", but looking from a slightly different angle, there is no natural ignorance; ignorance is clearly learned, it's the most unnatural thing, and our natural state is knowingness. Only in learned ignorance do we begin to speculate about God as vengeful etc., documenting again and again that "our" God is over there. I am deeply into this learned ignorance, mind you; but even thoroughly conditioned, I don't have to believe in what I believe.

"The key message of this letter is that it is a huge understanding to understand that we don’t understand" — ah, that's wonderful, as is the rest of this paragraph. Perhaps I may, without becoming too much of a nuisance, insist that the "wedge" can never be between ourselves and God since there is no between there; it can only be between us and our concept of God.

What insightful comments

What insightful comments from both of you, Chuck and Jochen. What a Heavenreader team there is out there -- ah, but, of course, there is no out there. The comments here are so wonderful, each one building another step and looking from a slightly different angle.

Chuck comments on a choosey God.

Chuck is so right to mention that God could do certain things if He so chooses because God is omnipotent and can do everything within the parameters of His nature. Our "understanding" of God's work is cloaked in darkness, a darkness imposed on us by human birth, ego and social pressures. There are pot holes, ditches, cliffs and other real problems in our life. Our job is to sing to God a song of love: "Getting to know you, getting to know all about you... "bearing in mind that "No one comes to God unless the Father draw him." That drawing or dragging process takes the form of daily life. The pot holes, ditches and life problems teach us "how" to choose as "free" children of a good and beautiful God.

A reminder to read the guidelines!

None of us like rules, and we don't like to make them. For the sake of all the readers who come here, we stay away from certain subjects, such as religion or politics etc. We can make our points without bringing up religion or politics, pro or con. We want everyone to be happy to come here. .

Please lets consider our neighbors who may be of a different religion, who may take their religion, or religion in general seriously and some who may not. Will all of you beautiful people please keep this in mind.

The exception to this would be the Spiritual Journey category where you tell your personal story and, of course, you tell it the way you see it.
