attitude towards life

Your Power

God said:

What are you thinking about today? If you are thinking about problems, switch to something else. Switch to desires. Switch to love.

At every moment you have an occasion for love. Love even your problems, for they are urging you forward, the way a jockey would spur on a horse. Without what you see as impediments to your evolution, you might not evolve. You might keep yourself out of action. You might wander off and twiddle your thumbs or never leave where you are.

The Jewel of Your Life

God said:

If you could but treat your life as a poem, how wonderful life would be! A poem is what it is. Poems affect you. And with each poem you read, your grasp of life grows. Something has been said, and you have heard it.

Poetry names things for you, so when you read a poem, your heart says: "Oh, yes. This is how it is. This is what I would have said if I had thought of it. The poet has said it for me. He has said it in his own words, but his words are also mine. He is like the diviner of my sense of life on earth."

Your Life

God said:

Like songs, life comes in many genres, many rhythms and many styles. All have their place. All serve. All cadences have merit. No one can say that one beat is superior to another. Have your favorites, but welcome the arrival of music in all its forms. You would not wish to be without it.

The Cup of Life

God said:

Bring the cup of life to your lips, and drink of it. Do not lag in Life, holding it back. Do not tug at it either. Let life arrive, arise, and speak itself. Your life does not need so much concern and interference from you.

The overt structure in life is only a part of it. It is not life itself. Life appears, and appears again and again. Ever new. There is nothing stale in life. It is not recycled. It is life effervescent. It is life arriving and making room for ever more arrival. It is not meant to be your drawing and redrawing of it. Let your life depict itself.

In the Name of Life

God said:

There is no value in keeping a scorecard of your life. To gauge your life according to a scale of a remote standard is to find your life wanting. You cannot find merit without the shadow of demerit tagging along.

What is this rush to make your life better? Can you not find happiness where it already lies? Can you not relish each moment as it is served to you. Are you to pick and choose your life? Must you take your life to task and scold it?
