Gloria to God:

Dear God, Kathy just moved into a new apartment, and her telephone isn't hooked up yet. She had an appointment for a consultation with Karen yesterday, so I gladly said she could use my phone. Her appointment was at 3, and I had to be somewhere at 2:30. Kathy avoids electromagnetic fields, so I told her I would disconnect and unplug my computer.

When I got back, there was no sign of Kathy. Everything I had left for her, all untouched. I wondered if she had even come. Then I discovered that my phone was not working. Instead of unplugging the computer, I had unplugged my telephone/fax machine. What does it mean when someone does such a stupid thing? Did I subsconsciously do that on purpose? Was Kathy "not meant" to use my phone, or talk to Karen on it? Did some other energies not want her to make the call at all? Or was I just stupid at the moment?

God:

You were in a hurry. When you are in a hurry, you are not in the moment. You are "in hurry". Consider hurry as contracted moments, squelched moments, blurred moments.

There could also be forces operating that did not want that call completed.

Gloria:

I was eager and happy for her to use my phone, but did I have some unconscious resistance?

God:

Psychology might say that. What I say is that this is not worth your time and energy. Humans do what you call stupid things. They leave an iron on and cause a fire. They drive their car in the opposite direction. And they pull the wrong plug.

I wouldn't make much of it. Another time, exercise more care. Your attention was on making it to your appointment on time and not on what you were doing.

Gloria:

I've left three messages on Kathy's voice mail, and she hasn't called back.

God:

Don't make much of that either. She will. No great harm was done. Take the attitude that these things happen.

People forget things altogether. You remembered she was coming. You were making her welcome. Give yourself credit where you can.

Gloria:

Dear Mother Divine, what would you like to say this morning?

Mother Divine:

What do you fear would happen because you were distracted and committed an error? Why such turmoil and heart-wrenching for you over this?

You would say because you had put your friend in a momentary panic, left her in the lurch, caused her anxiety.

I would say that it is your ego. You were this great person benefacting another at no inconvenience to yourself and making points with Karen as well. You expected to have it confirmed what a wonderful person you are, and it turned out to be a disaster for YOU.

This is your anxiety. Your wonderfulness backfired. Your ego got bruised.

Yes, you're sorry to have inconvenienced a friend, but you're sorrier that you were disappointed.

You know, Gloria, you did what clowns do. They pull the wrong plug. And you are not a clown. But clowns are smarter than you in that they don't spend their moments in remorse. They go on cheerfully to make their next mistake.

We forgive clowns their errors because we know their purpose is to make others happy. You meant to make your friend happy.

Like a clown, cheerfully go on. What is the opposite of a mistake? Maybe you will make those instead.

In any case, this is a new day. Leave yesterday's behind you.

All is well in the universe. God laughs at these human errors, and so must you.

Keep a mental list of what you do "right" and forgo lists of errors. I assure you no one else is keeping track.

Spend a few moments now getting the feeling of God back. Ease into that power, goodness, and joy, and treat yourself as God does treat you.

He sees your truth, not your errors.

He sees your greatness, not your smallness.

He loves your humanness, and He loves beyond it.

When a friend has a child, you do not point out the baby's inadequacies and inconveniences, do you?

You are God's child, and why focus on what He does not?

Take attention off yourself and your little concerns, and turn your face to Heaven, so you can remember it and so God can look at you, His beloved child, and enter your eyes.

Let God swim in your heart today. Let Him swim through your mind. Let Him ease your heart and take you on a grand tour of today. He will take you places you may not have dreamed of.

Today is a new garden for you to walk in and discover what is blooming.

Gloria:

Dear Mother Divine, that is beautiful. Thank you…Am I frazzled because I am not getting enough sleep?

Mother Divine:

Sleep is good, but you are looking for causes somewhere else. Who causes you to not get enough sleep? If you are frazzled, it is because you let yourself become frazzled. If you can frazzle yourself, you can unfrazzle yourself.

Keep God with you, and keep your hand in His. He knows the way, and His way is smooth.

Be aware how He calls you to come to Him, for you are His completion, and you are His answer to Himself. It is Himself He calls. God wants to be known.
